SURGE is a business incubator that assists university research as well as existing companies in improving all facets necessary to thrive as a business entity. We energize our business partners and their teams with a stream of creative ideas. SURGE helps early-stage concepts come to life with start-up support and enables small businesses to grow with the help of innovative tools and manpower, typically available only to well-financed, large companies.
SURGE seeks out unique and rewarding projects in a variety of fields for our team to facilitate relationships, produce significant measurable results, and ultimately build out sustainable start-up entities and assist all clients.
Start-ups often lack the necessary resources or skill sets to bring a great idea to life. But SURGE is different. We are fortunate to have a broad variety of talent, which allows us to take a great concept and transform dreams into reality. At SURGE, we keep professional quality services within financial reach for small businesses. This is made possible through a partnership between our skilled professionals and talented, advanced-standing Penn State students. Even prospective clients not interested in the mentoring process, have the ability to work with a team of professionals. Through our experiences, we have been able to cultivate a skilled team, specializing in strategic business development, project management, website development, search engine optimization, social media, marketing, market research, sales, multimedia and much more.
SURGE originated as an internship program within Greenway Logistics, a leader in trade show shipping resale. At Greenway Logistics, Penn State interns contributed to sales efforts through research and support. Their contributions resulted in significant sales growth for the company and great exposure in the world of start-up and small business operations. We leveraged the feedback from students, and the university internship coordinators, to improve and further develop the program to continue to benefit students, university partners/researchers, and companies alike.
